The 10th Commonwealth Youth Forum took place in Malta from the 21st to 25th of November 2015, and two Canadian youth, Aden Hamza and Joshua Mazur, had the privilege of being chosen as the official National Youth Delegates to represent Canada.

Every two years, the Heads of Government of the Commonwealth meet to discuss Commonwealth priorities and global issues, as well as create objectives and policies to be acted on for the following two years. The Commonwealth Youth Forum runs prior to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) and provides youth the opportunity to learn and create recommendations based on youth priorities as well as encourage networking and partnerships among youth across the Commonwealth. Once the recommendations are passed by the youth General Assembly, they are presented to CHOGM for consideration.

National Youth Delegates are selected from each Commonwealth country, and an open-call was held to allow any youth from the Commonwealth to attend as Observers. Aden and Joshua, accompanied by observer Aaron Pinto, were fortunate to hear from distinguished leaders and experienced practitioners, including Ministers and youth activists over the course of 4 days and are excited to share with you their experiences.
