RCS Vancouver Island

AConnected Commonwealth is the way of the 2019 year of Royal Commonwealth Society Vancouver Island (RCS V.I.).

The RCS V.I. actively promotes a Commonwealth of Connections in a variety of ways First, through the triple standard of Communication-Conversation-Collaboration. Second, through the triple pathways of Trade-Tourism-Trust.Third, through the relationships created with growing awareness, greater knowledge, and expanding experiences.

Our programs include the Vancouver Island Student Commonwealth Conference; the promotion of the National Student Commonwealth Forum; and the gala celebration of the Commonwealth Day Luncheon with Her Honour, Janet Austen, Lieutenant Governor of British Columbia hosting colleagues on Monday, 11th March.

In December 2018, the RCS V.I. branch celebrated the creation of an Education Legacy Fund (an ELF) as an endowment with the Victoria Foundation so that we can guarantee a source of revenue to support youth in building their knowledge and experience of life in the Commonwealth.

2019 is the centennial year of the RCS V.I. and various events will be organized to celebrate the first society with a royal connection in Canada.
